An innovation
& experience design studio
01.
Bureau of Play exists to translate shifts in how we work, live, and play into experiences, services, and products that are as useful as they are unexpected. We work with founders, brands, artists, and institutions shaping everyday life, culture, and place.

Work in Progress
We’re dreaming up original, thoughtful moments, experiences, products, services, and ventures as invitations to slow down, engage intentionally, and connect more deeply. We hold every idea to the same standard. Is it genuinely meaningful? Does it make life more interesting, joyful, or beautiful? Does it push boundaries? Does it shift something in the person who encounters it?
We’re guided by a sense of adventure and curiosity for what’s humanly possible. Sometimes we release our own ideas into the wild. Other times we partner selectively to do things differently. Occasionally, we advise ambitious individuals, teams, and organizations with an appetite for the atypical.
03.
Curiosity is our practice. Atypical is our DNA. The present is our playground.
Through research, experimentation, and collaboration, we follow questions that interest us and give shape to some of what we discover. Our work moves between inquiry and form and across cities, disciplines, perspectives, and people.
-
Our inquiries move across everyday life. We are interested in what is changing, what has been overlooked, and what might be imagined differently.
-
Some questions are better explored through experience. Salons, gatherings, field studies, workshops, journeys, prototypes, and other temporary forms give us a way to explore ideas with others.
-
Ideas are more interesting in good company. We work selectively with founders, brands, artists, designers, and organizations on questions and ideas that feel worth exploring. Sometimes that means research. Sometimes strategy. Sometimes an experience, concept, or something that doesn't have a name yet.

Let us play.
